Before any whitening treatment, the team at Loop Dental will evaluate your teeth and gums to make sure they are healthy and ready for whitening. Cavities, gum irritation, or heavy buildup should be treated first so the whitening gel can work evenly and comfortably.
A professional cleaning before your whitening appointment removes surface stains and plaque, giving the gel better contact with your enamel. We also recommend avoiding dark foods, coffee, and tobacco in the days leading up to treatment to prevent new stains from forming.
For Opalescence Go®, preparation is simple. Once your teeth and gums are in good shape, we send you home with your kit and clear instructions. For Philips Zoom!® Delivered, we take a quick digital scan during your visit, and your custom trays and gel arrive at your home within about two weeks. For Opalescence Pro™ in-office sessions, we handle everything chairside.
Aftercare for a Lasting Bright Smile
After whitening, your enamel is more porous for the first 48 hours. During that window, avoid dark-colored foods and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tomato-based sauces.
